Description: Ever had a bad day at work that just kept getting worse? A day that you just hope would end so you can reset and get back to normal? We all do. Max Verstappen had one of those on October 27, 2019 in Mexico City. Verstappen is not like us though. He turned his into a Driver of the Day Award. How does a driver win the Driver of the Day Award after doing the following? 

  1. Wins Q3 Qualifying 

  1. Finishes that same Grand Prix in 6th 

  1. Finishes 1 Minute 8 Seconds behind the race winner 

  1. Finishes 1 Minute behind 4TH Place 

You'll have to ask Verstappen to find out because that's exactly what he did at the 2019 Mexican Grand Prix. In a race that saw him start 4th on the Grid after receiving a penalty for not slowing on yellow flags, Verstappen would tangle with Lewis Hamilton on the first lap to fall further down to 8th. A few laps later he would receive a puncture that caused him to enter the pit on only three tires. He would then re-enter the race in last place, a full 30 seconds behind 19th placed Romain Grosjean. Verstappen would then proceed to turn this all into 8 points and a 6th Place finish giving everyone a glimpse of the grit, determination and resilience needed to become an eventual champion.
